Overview
This project focuses on protecting a forest area in the Nunukan Regency. The asset owner is in the final stage of proposing a forest license for environmental services (IUP-JL) under the Ministry of Environment and Forestry license. The area faces a significant threat of conversion to an oil palm plantation by another company. By preventing this conversion and restoring the threatened forest to protected status, the project aims to contribute significantly to emissions reduction, totaling 20 million tons of CO2 equivalent over 40 years. The project area includes secondary dryland forests, non-forest areas, and peat areas.
