What You'll Do
- * Lead the implementation of biodiversity conservation field projects, including monitoring and surveys, ensuring compliance with VCS and CCB Verra Standards and/or other standards as required by the project.
- * Manage and analyze biodiversity data, including databases of species, habitats, and ecosystem conditions within the project area.
- * Design and implement conservation plans for the protection of endangered species and critical habitats, including developing necessary biodiversity-related Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- * Process data from biodiversity surveys and monitoring activities.
- * Prepare biodiversity survey and monitoring reports, ensuring alignment with VCS and CCB Verra Standards and/or other project-specific requirements.
What This Role Needs
- * Bachelor's degree in Biology, Ecology, Forestry, or other environmental sciences.
- * Basic knowledge of forest ecosystems and biodiversity.
- * Proficient in data processing software (e.g., GIS, Excel).
- * Strong analytical skills for interpreting data and survey results.
- * Effective communication skills for preparing reports and presentations.
- * Minimum of 2 years of experience in biodiversity-related fields; fresh graduates with a strong interest in biodiversity and environmental issues are encouraged to apply.
- * Proficient in wildlife and/or flora survey and monitoring techniques, such as camera traps, mist nets, and other necessary methods for biodiversity surveys and monitoring.
- * Ability to identify flora and/or wildlife (mammals, birds, herpetofauna, etc.).
- * Knowledge or experience in biodiversity assessment approaches, such as High Conservation Value (HCV) assessments, Critical Habitat Assessments (CHA), or similar methodologies. HCV and/or HCS certification is an advantage.
- * Strong initiative and ability to work independently or in teams with minimal supervision.
- * Willingness to conduct field activities as required by the project (Field Surveys).
