Fairatmos has taken another step in driving global climate action by signing a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Universiti Putra Malaysia Holdings Sdn. Bhd (UPMH), a leading institution in environmental studies and sustainability. Renowned for its pioneering contributions to forestry and agriculture education, UPM was the first university in Malaysia to offer forestry as part of its curriculum, cementing its position as a key player in the country’s environmental research and academic landscape.

This powerful partnership aims to explore and develop innovative carbon projects across key regions in Malaysia, leveraging Fairatmos' cutting-edge technology and UPM's academic in mangrove and forest management expertise to combat climate change and accelerate sustainability efforts.

On 3rd September 2024, the MoU was signed between Fairatmos and UPM Consultancy & Services Sdn Bhd (UPMCS), a subsidiary of UPMH Sdn Bhd, at the Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur. The collaboration will focus on the development of carbon projects across multiple states in Malaysia, including Selangor, Pahang, Kedah, Terengganu, Sarawak, and Johor.

Under the agreement, Fairatmos, together with its affiliates, will contribute its technological expertise to support the development of carbon projects. UPMCS, with its rights to manage land areas in these regions, will collaborate with Fairatmos to identify potential sites for project development. The partnership will also focus on integrating innovative solutions for monitoring, capacity building, and knowledge transfer.

The signing ceremony was honored by the presence of H.E. Hermono, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Malaysia. The MoU was officially signed by Natalia Rialucky Marsudi, CEO & Founder of Fairatmos, and Abdul Latif Bin Anuar, Chairman of UPM Consultancy & Services Sdn Bhd.

The event was also attended by YBhg. Dato' Dr. Mohd Fauzi bin Hj. Ramlan, Chairman of UPM Holdings Sdn. Bhd.; YBrs. Encik Shahrulnizam bin Md. Sharif, Group Chief Executive Officer of UPM Holdings Sdn. Bhd.
