In a historic leap towards ASEAN’s collective net-zero future, Fairatmos and Yinson Holdings Berhad officially signed a transformative Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on September 3rd, 2024, at the iconic Grand Hyatt in Kuala Lumpur. 

The momentous ceremony was witnessed by the distinguished Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Malaysia, H.E. Hermono, who emphasized the significance of this partnership in advancing regional sustainability efforts.

The signing was represented by Dr. Renard Siew Yung Jhien, Group Head of Corporate Sustainability at Yinson Holdings Berhad, and Natalia Rialucky, CEO and Founder of Fairatmos. Their leadership underscores the shared commitment to pioneering impactful solutions for climate action.

This partnership marks the dawn of a new era for ASEAN, where nations come together in unity to combat climate change—prioritizing collaboration over competition. Leveraging Fairatmos’ advanced expertise and technology in carbon project development, this collaboration creates an ideal platform for Yinson to explore opportunities in financing nature-based carbon offset projects co-developed with Fairatmos. Anchored by its 30 by 30 initiative, this venture exemplifies Yinson’s commitment to sustainability, as it sets ambitious targets to be carbon neutral by 2030, and net zero by 2050. 

By fostering capacity building and facilitating knowledge sharing between the two organizations, the partnership positions them to spearhead the advancement of nature-based solutions across the ASEAN region. By combining their strengths, Fairatmos and Yinson are laying the foundation for a greener, more sustainable Southeast Asia.
