The Tambopata-Bahuaja REDD+ Project in Madre de Dios, Peru, spans 573,300 hectares, aiming to prevent over 4.57 million tCO2e emissions from 2010 to 2030. Known for its biodiversity, the project supports sustainable cocoa production, combats illegal gold mining with mercury-free techniques, and focuses on sustainable forest management. It is managed by AIDER, a leading Peruvian NGO.

Climate Benefits
Implemented agroforestry systems on over 1,000 hectares to improve soil quality and rehabilitate the area, achieving over 5,300,000 tCO2e emission reductions to date with ongoing reductions projected over the project's 20-year lifespan.
Community Benefits
In 2020, Fair Trade certified cocoa exports included 228 tonnes of conventional cocoa and 130 tonnes of organic cocoa, while the native community of Infierno recognized women in leadership, with Mrs. Hilda María Cordero Vacasahua as President and women serving as secretary and treasurer.
